When I said I hope Zoe and James don’t end up in the bottom two every week I didn’t think they’d be substituted with another good couple! I love Ian! I’m pleased they were up against Jo and Brendan. As much as I think they were one of the cutest couples ever there was no question as to who the Judges would pick! I think Brendan and Jo’s last dance was just gorgeous and they took their exit gracefully! He even waved a ‘thank you’ over to the band during the exit song. I am a bit of a sucker during the exit songs anyway but I love ‘Make It Easy On Yourself’ so I got a little emotional yesterday!

Ok, firstly… I cannot believe Zoe and James were in the bottom two, but like James reminded me, Rachel Stevens was often in the bottom two and she still did alright! It still always shocks me when people who are clearly good end up in the bottom two week after week! I hope that doesn’t happen to these two! Anyway, moving on to the things that actually involve my opinion…

Yesterday felt like the longest day in the world! In at 8.45! This time with the lovely Hazel joining the team again! She had to tackle Brian and Ali’s song, which sounded an absolute mouthful to me!

Usually we get an hour together at the start of the day to run through the songs with just the vocalists. This gives us time to make sure we’ve all learnt the correct parts before we join the band on set. Sometimes the parts speak for themselves but if it’s a modern pop song or Queen or something it can be an absolute nightmare as these tracks have layers and layers of vocals on top of each other. It can be impossible to recreate with only four (sometimes three) singers! We try to get in as many vocal parts from the edits we’re given, as we don’t know which lyric etc they may have done a specific piece of choreography to! However, for the past two weeks, because of the amount of contestants and the short amount of time we’ve had to get straight into the studio!

Week three was the first night with myself as the only female singer! I wasn’t looking forward to it but luckily I only had a few songs! I absolutely loved singing Natalie and Vincent’s Paso! All the songs I had last night were not necessarily the sort I’d sing outside of Strictly but I love having to try different styles!

With there being so many contestants this year the workload is quite heavy. We were rehearsing from 9.15 yesterday and when the boys have to belt out things like Queen and Bon Jovi continuously till Showtime you really need to pace yourself.
